Philippians 3:10 (KJV)
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”
This month, we’ve been reflecting on the faithfulness of God, and Easter Sunday is the ultimate proof that He always shows up.
The story of Scripture is not just about blessings and mountaintop moments. It’s about valleys, prisons, shipwrecks, slavery, and suffering. And yet, through it all, God never abandoned His people. He showed up every single time.
And the same is true for you.
He Was Faithful—Even When We Weren’t
Even when we turned away, God kept showing up. Romans 5:8 reminds us:
“While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
This scripture is a testament of His never-ending pursuit to save us. He didn’t wait for us to get our act together. He didn’t require perfection. His love pursued us first, not because we earned it, but because that’s who He is.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” —John 15:13
Easter isn’t just about celebration. It’s about sacrifice. And there is no resurrection without the cross.
Why the Cross Had to Come First
You can’t jump straight to the empty tomb without first visiting Calvary. Why? Because sin required a sacrifice.
“Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission.” —Hebrews 9:22
“For the wages of sin is death…” —Romans 6:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” —Romans 3:23
All of us are sinners. And that means all of us need a Savior.
But God didn’t leave us in our brokenness. From the moment humanity fell, He set a rescue plan in motion. A plan that would lead to a cross, a grave, and a glorious resurrection.
Romans 5:19, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
Jesus Came to Redeem
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.” —Matthew 1:21
God became man in the person of Jesus Christ to be the perfect sacrifice. His death, burial, and resurrection is not just a story, it’s a blueprint for our redemption.
- His death mirrors our repentance—a dying to self.
- His burial reflects our baptism—where our sins are washed away.
- His resurrection parallels our new life through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
Resurrection Power Isn’t Just for Jesus
Paul said in Romans 6: 3-11 (NLT)
..“Just as Christ was raised from the dead… we also may live new lives.”..
When you experience the gospel, death, burial, and resurrection, you’re no longer a slave to sin. You are alive in Christ. That’s the true message of Easter. It’s not just that He rose, you can too.
This Is the Day of Redemption
Psalm 130 reminds us of the heart of God:
“With the Lord there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows.”
There’s no sin too big, no past too dark, no mistake too permanent.
“Are our sins great? With God there is mercy—matchless mercy.” —Trapp
Today isn’t just a day of remembrance. It’s an invitation. An invitation to be redeemed. To be forgiven. To step into resurrection life.
Final Word
Easter is the evidence that God always shows up, especially when we need Him most. He showed up in a garden. He showed up on a cross. He showed up in a tomb. And He’s showing up for you right now.
This is your moment.
To repent.
To be buried in His name.
To rise again in new life.
He showed up so you could be set free.
