Psalm 37:25
“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”
Have you ever heard a seasoned saint talk about the goodness of God through every chapter of life?
Their stories carry a kind of weight—a depth that comes not from blind faith, but from lived experience. They’ve walked through valleys, faced storms, endured trials… and yet they can still say with full confidence:
“God has always shown up.”
That’s exactly what David is saying in Psalm 37. This wasn’t a hopeful declaration of what might happen. This was a testimony of what had happened, over and over again.
God’s Track Record Is Perfect
David had seen God’s faithfulness across every stage of his life, from shepherd boy to giant slayer to king. Yes, he faced betrayal, heartbreak, and failure. But through it all, one truth remained: God never failed him.
And that same truth remains for us.
You might be walking through uncertainty right now, through grief, confusion, or hardship. But let David’s words remind you: The righteous are never forsaken.
Faith in the Fire: The Story of Job
One of the greatest stories of endurance is found in the life of Job.
He lost everything, his family, his wealth, his health. Even his closest friends turned on him. And yet, Job remained faithful.
And in the end? God gave him a double portion and restored what had been lost.
“After this lived Job a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.”—Job 42:16
What you’re going through right now may not make sense. You may not feel like you deserve it. But know this: God has not left you. And one day, you’ll have clarity. One day, your testimony will be one of provision and restoration—if you stay in the race.
Don’t Quit Before the Miracle
The truth is simple: Quitters never see miracles.
Abraham didn’t quit on the mountain. He trusted God would provide, even when it meant putting his son on the altar. That moment, when God provided the ram, became a generational story of faith.
What if Abraham had given up before he saw God move? Can you imagine the stories that were told not only from Abraham but also from Isaac?
Some miracles only come on the other side of obedience, trust, and pressing forward.
“These trials will show that your faith is genuine…” —1 Peter 1:6-7 (NLT)
He’ll Show Up for You Too
Maybe you’re in a season of waiting. Maybe you’re wondering if God will ever show up.
Let the testimony of Scripture and the lives of faithful believers remind you:
He always has. He always will.
David said it best:
“I have been young, and now am older; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”
So if you’re walking through the valley, keep walking. If you’re waiting for the miracle, keep waiting. Because the God who showed up for David, Job, and Abraham, will show up for you.
