Kingdom Promise – Promises of HOPE!

Acts 2:39 “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

There is HOPE today! Not because of the promises of man…but there is HOPE today because of the promises of God!

Let me remind all of us, “FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

In other words, our HOPE is not in the things we can see with our physical eyes. Anything we put our hope and trust in that we can see will always fail us.

Humanity will fail us. The promise of material goods will fail us. However, the things “where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal”…these are the things that WILL NEVER FAIL US!

If you are tired of broken promises, shift your trust to Kingdom Promises!

I love Psalms 119! I love it because it talks A LOT about the important of God’s Word.

Many times, the psalmist refers to God’s Word as regulations, commandments, law, and decrees. All throughout the word, there are many promises that we can trust in and put our hope and faith

Psalm 119:10-16 NLT, “I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. I praise you, O Lord; teach me your decrees. I have recited aloud all the regulations you have given us. I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches. I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word.”

A few points to take away from this passage….

  •  Don’t ever allow anything or anyone to make you wander away from the promises of God.
  • Get His Word (His promises) so deep in your heart, you don’t sin against God.
  • Treat His promises bettet than riches of this world.
  • Study, reflect and delight so you do not forget His Word and promises.

Psalm 119:49-57 NLT , “Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope. Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles. The proud hold me in utter contempt, but I do not turn away from your instructions. I meditate on your age-old regulations; O Lord, they comfort me. “

This is an incredible portion of scripture about the promises of His Word. The Psalmist declares it is his ONLY HOPE.

He says that the promise revives him. He states that the promise comforts him in ALL his troubles. He says that he meditates on the promises.

The Psalmist continues, “I become furious with the wicked, because they reject your instructions. Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived. I reflect at night on who you are, O Lord; therefore, I obey your instructions. This is how I spend my life: obeying your commandments.”

Here is a good question for all of us, “What has been the theme of your songs for your life”?

Has the theme of your songs been on the kingdom of this world and its promises? Or has the theme of your songs been on the Kingdom of God and His promises?

What is your song? What makes you sing? What makes you dance? What makes you clap? What makes you shout?

I want to be consumed with His promises and His Word like the psalmist when he said, “This is how I spend my life.”

We MUST be consumed with His promises. The most important promise to be consumed with is the promise of His Spirit living in side of us.

Acts 2:39, “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
