“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 NLT

You may or may not know this, but Faith Tabernacle is an Apostolic Pentecostal church.

I am not talking about some denomination of certain religious views. I am not talking about some organization of whom we belong to. I am not talking about labels. I am not talking about some preconceived or biased ideas for some made-up religion. I am not talking about preaching styles or music styles.

I am talking about an experience. Not just any experience, but an experience that marked the birth of the CHURCH.

If you want to be part of the OG church (original church), you shouldn’t go back in the history books and try to figure out the multitudes of religions and denominations.

Go to your Word and turn to the book of Acts where God birthed His church with pouring out of His Spirit on the day of Pentecost.

There will be more demonstration of His Spirit then there will be preaching about it.

After the fall of man, everything looked forward to a Savior coming and living inside of us. The law gave temporary reprieve…It was a temporary fix, but it was never meant to be the ultimate solution.

For the ultimate solution, Jesus told Nicodemus, “YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN.”

So how are we born again? Jesus was clear to his disciples that He was going away but He would come again as the comforter! Jesus had to ascend to He could descend and His Spirit could live inside of us.

THE DAY OF PENTECOST

Acts 2:1-4 “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Acts 2:37-39 “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

In the book of Acts, we read about Cornelius. In that story, God showed Peter that the Holy Ghost wasn’t just for the Jews but was available to Gentiles too.

Acts 10:44-48 “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”

Acts 19:1-6 “And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.”

That’s us. That’s me and you. God, in His mercy, offered us the gift of salvation. It’s a gift. It’s a promise. It’s for you!
