I believe one of the key factors of us being in awe of Him is having a heart of thanks. I do not want to close this year out without acknowledging His greatness, and His faithfulness in all He has done at FAITH and in our families.
His love has never failed.
His presence has always been faithful.
His provision has never lacked.
He has never been early.
He has never been late.
He has always been on time!
There’s a song called “Always On Time” that says,
There’s never been a day, never been a minute
Never been a moment that You weren’t in it
There’s never been a time that You didn’t see me through, God
So I worship You
The words of this song put me in a place of amazement, admiration and reverence to my God who has always been there for me.
For that reason, I am grateful.
For that reason, I sing, I clap, I lift my voice – because of His greatness.
“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” Psalms 100
“Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” Psalm 103-1-5 NLT
Let me just say it again, I do not think you can be in awe of God if you are not thankful.
The year 2024 for some could have been very challenging. Maybe you have been praying for something that has not happened yet. Maybe you have been believing for a miracle that has not taken place yet.
I will remind you what the missionary told us a few weeks ago, “Quitters don’t see miracles.”
Because Moses did not quit, he saw a Red Sea part.
Because Noah believed, even when he was surrounded by unbelief, he built a boat in a desert place.
Because Joseph had faith in his God-given dream, the pit and the jail cell did not stop him from seeing what God showed him in his dream.
Joshua and Caleb stood up against the evil report, and they got to see the Promise Land.
All these men had an awe-inspiring commitment and devotion in hard times. God’s presence consumed them more than the worries of this life.
John Bevere writes, “You will never find God’s wonderful presence in an atmosphere where He’s not revered and held in awe.”
Can we push aside the thoughts of what has not happened yet, the worries of the future, and just thank Him for all He has done? He has been faithful!
“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34
